St. Columb's School of Music does not require formal auditions to be a student as everyone and anyone is welcome. We do however ask that a short introductory session takes place so that we can gauge the potential and current abilities of the student. The route of learning, repertoire, lessons and exam dates will also be decided at this time.
The introductory session lasts no more than 20 minutes and includes undertaking a few sight-reading and aural tests in an informal environment, as well as answering a few questions on theory, musical knowledge, aims and goals. This is only to benefit the teachers, and in no way compromises the candidate's application to the School. The session will be followed by a short tour of the school grounds.
If you have any further queries about this, please contact the school directly.
