St. Columb's School of Music

Sophie has been studying music and voice since the age of 4 and holds grades from both the University College of London and Trinity College London. She won the exhibition award in 2013 for achieving the highest graded points in the United Kingdom and Ireland and in the same year, was chosen to study for two weeks with the London Symphony orchestra as part of a creative team, writing their own music.

 

Sophie has played and accompanied for many years, but her favourite part is sight reading. Often she would try and read the music and sound it out in her head before playing, then spend hours playing and playing until each part was perfect. In particular, she enjoys jazz and film scores.
