
Zak Hassan
Zak Hassan is an Irish/Iranian Pianist and Violinist currently in his final year at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, studying under Bernard Doherty. He grew up in Northern Ireland and began taking lessons from a young age. By the age of eleven, Zak was the winner of Northern Ireland’s Primary School Musician of the Year and following this, was invited to perform in the House of Commons in London. He made his concerto debut at the age of sixteen, playing Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E minor with his local community orchestra.
Since studying in Glasgow, Zak has had the opportunity to play alongside the prestigious Royal Scottish National Orchestra (RSNO) and has been involved in performances in venues such as The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall and City Halls.
Zak is delighted to be joining the team at St. Columb’s School of Music!
