James Curran
James Curran is an experienced guitarist, singer and songwriter from Derry, Northern Ireland. He completed the National Diploma in Music at Northwest Regional College in 2013 with triple distinction and during his time at the college he was a part of the winning band in the “Music-skills NI” competition for two years in a row. After college he pursued a career in performing and began performing with a variety of different bands including “Undercover” and “The Goodfellas”.
James has composed soundtracks for various projects including the popular short film “It Runs Deep” in 2020 and is also the singer and guitarist in Progressive rock band “Ghost Origin”. He was recently the guitarist in the Saint Cecilia’s production of “We Will Rock You” and he can be seen on on a weekly basis playing around various venues in the town as a solo act also.
James is a friendly, approachable tutor that welcomes all levels and can help beginner to experienced guitarists in all aspects of playing including, improvisation, technique, music theory, sight reading and anything else the student is interested in learning.
