Sophie Kelly
Sophie is 21 from Derry and a former pupil of Thornhill College. Playing the harp from the age of nine and having completed her grades in traditional Irish harp along with distinction grades in both piano and cello grade 6, her love for music is shown. She has also achieved her grade 5 in music theory with ARBSM.
Thought her time in school, Sophie was a keen music student, a member of both the school orchestra and the Senior Chamber Choir which competed in the School Choir of the Year competition. Sophie received the award for highest overall result in GCSE Music in her year, and later achieved an A grade in Music at A Level.
Continuing on her music pathway, Sophie is now entering into her fourth year of Primary Teaching with Music at St Mary's University College Belfast where she is a member of the university choir and preforms regularly at college events including carol services.
Over the past four years Sophie has preformed in ceremonies such as weddings, funerals and communions in and around the Derry area.
Sophie is very excited to share her passion and knowledge of music with her students this year!
