Clare McCafferty

Clare has shown her love for music from a young age, having played the piano from when she was 6 as well as the fiddle at 7. She has dedicated many years to her passion; achieving a Distinction at Grade 8 and Grade 6 on the piano and fiddle respectively, as well as Grade 5 Music Theory. She has competed in piano and fiddle competitions at the Feis in Derry, Moville and Carndonagh, achieving awards for her performances.

Throughout her time at school, Clare was a keen music student spending all her free time in the music department expanding her skills. She was part of the senior choir which competed and won many school competitions and also accompanied the orchestra on the piano. Clare continued on her music pathway and studied Music and Audio Production at Queens University Belfast where she was awarded a 2:1. Having specialised in composing music at University, including composing music for screen, Clare has her own music available to stream on music platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music, and has plans to share much more in the coming years.

Clare is excited to share her skills and knowledge of music with her students this year, hoping to inspire the next generation of musicians!
