Jack McHale

Jack McHale is an experienced singer-songwriter, musician, and guitar tutor from Donegal. He has been involved in a variety of music projects and schools in Derry including Greenhaw Primary School, St.Patrick's Primary School, and Ardnashee School and College. Jack has worked with young people of all ages and levels. He also has experience tutoring young people with disabilities including autism and down syndrome through Project Sparks and his co-creation ‘Band Experience’ workshops. The bands formed at these workshops are now involved in the local music scene and have played festivals and venues like The Foyle Maritime Festival and The Alley Theatre. 

 

Jack has an HNC qualification in music from the Northwest Regional College in Derry. Jack performs in numerous music ensembles, most notably, his band Delta Fuse who tour extensively throughout the UK and Europe. Jack has performed professionally since he was 16, in Festivals and venues throughout Ireland including The International Rory Gallagher Festival, Sea Sessions, Whelans and The Empire. Jack writes his own music having recorded two studio albums. Jack and his band were awarded The City Of Derry Jazz Festival Bursary in 2022 for their achievements in music and have recently been nominated for the UK Blues Emerging Act of the Year 2023 by the UK Blues Federation.

 

Jack is a fun, approachable tutor. He believes the enjoyment of music should be present in every lesson. All levels are welcome, students will be taught to play their instrument the way they want to play it.
