Robert Peoples

Robert has been playing the violin since 1976 and the viola since 1987, and teaching for the last twenty years. He led the St Columb’s College Orchestra from 1985-1987, where he was awarded the Redmond Friel Prize for Music, and also led the WAMS Youth Orchestra from 1986-1987.

Robert then spent four years at Colchester Institute School of Music under the tutelage of maestro Glyndwr Parfitt. There he led the Chamber Orchestra and led the viola section of the Symphony Orchestra, returning home in the early nineties. He also studied at Magee for three years in the early 2000’s.

From the Royal Albert Hall to WOMAD, from Glastonbury to Snape Maltings, Robert has performed with many different orchestral ensembles, bands and acts. He is extremely versatile! He has made numerous appearances on television over the years and continues to perform as a session musician locally, nationally and internationally!
