Abbie Campbell

Abbie, aged 21, is currently undergoing her final year in her undergraduate studies in a Bachelors degree in Music with honours. She currently teaches at Causeway School of Music in her hometown of Coleraine, both teaching in piano and singing. Abbie started singing lessons at the age of 6, and around a year and a half later, she started the piano. Abbie has achieved up to Grade 5 in her Classical singing with Trinity College London, and has now achieved a Diploma with London College of Music with a staggering 89%! She is also completing the final stages of her Grade 8 piano with Trinity, which will be done in the new year, and plans to venture onto a diploma as well.

Throughout her time in education, Abbie studied both music and drama at GCSE, and A level, gaining knowledge in different genres of Music, varying from Musical Theatre, Classical, Jazz Standard, and a little bit of Choral Music. Studying Drama at GCSE gave her a lot of opportunities. She played “Bett” in Ballymoney High School’s production of “Oliver!”, and in her final year she played “Belle” in their production of “Beauty and the Beast”. Through her university years, she has taken part in singing for the University of Ulster choir, and chamber choir, where she developed more experience and love for choral music, including songs from Eric Whitacre. She had the enormous privilege of performing for a packed guildhall alongside Phil Coulter to an audience including the 42nd president Bill Clinton, marking the 25th anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement.

Abbie is looking forward to working with students to help them achieve the best of their abilities and help achieve their goals, dreams and aspirations. Most importantly, to build a rapport, foster confidence and develop creativity be it through either singing or piano. Abbie believes that when words fail, music speaks.
